Darrell Legg – Bass
Darrell Legg was born in West Virginia, where he first learned the fine art of Backwoods Banter and the value of hard work… mostly from the grueling 600-foot walk to school every day.
He later moved to Florida and grew up on Melbourne Beach, where his father was a police officer. Darrell and his brother spent many nights roaming A1A with buckets, rescuing baby sea turtles and safely guiding them toward the ocean. It was there that he learned two things: how to stay up late, and how to help the little guys find their groove.
Darrell eventually settled in the bustling metropolis of West Melbourne—population 2,900 humans and roughly 6,000 cows. Sports were a big part of his life growing up, but everything changed the night he saw Slim Summerville and The Southlanders play at the Wickham Lounge. Inspired, Darrell and a friend made a life-changing decision: his buddy would play guitar… and Darrell would play bass.
Since then, Darrell has laid down the low end for several bands including Gator Mountain Band and Bogus Jones, and spent many years playing with the Calvary Chapel Worship Team.
Off stage, Darrell works at a golf course where he balances his two great passions—playing bass and playing golf. Somewhere along the way he also developed a love for speed, getting into high-speed cart racing which eventually turned into a business. He owned C&D Motorsports and opened Sharpes Raceway, now known as Full Throttle Speedway.
Oh… and he’s also in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
But that’s a story for another day.
While Darrell has loved sports his entire life, music has always been his ultimate passion—and he’s happiest when he’s holding down the groove and keeping the band in the pocket.
